No matter what your profession or your industry is, marketing yourself is essential for growth. On 18 October, 2019, International Women’s Networking Group Rotterdam hosted an afternoon of marketing workshops at Tribes Blaak. Women from den Haag, Amsterdam, and Delft came to learn about how to capture and connect with their audience.

Decorations and Arrival

Before guests arrived, event planners Sabina of Sabs Creations and Ana Gallo of Ana Gallo Events added a splash of bold femininity with balloons and flowers. And Rozemarijn of Heel Seitan brought vegan cookies, brownies, and cake to welcome attendees.

Guests at Storytelling and Social Media break the ice

As people started trickling in, there was a quiet murmur around the tea, coffee, and treats. But soon enough, the meeting room filled with buzzing energy.

Storytelling, Social Media, and Content Creation

Najoua Bijjir delivers a stirring presentation on the importance of storytelling

To kick off the workshops, Najoua Bijjir started her presentation with a personal, captivating story about her journey to becoming an author. She then asked the group to outline their own personal journeys, and one of us was brave enough to share out loud.

Afterwards, Krati Agarwal led a social media photography workshop. Attendees listened carefully as she explained how to get the best lighting and composition with just a cellphone camera.

Kajose Culinair prepared a hearty snack for attendees between workshops

Then the session immediately broke out into small groups of women chatting and helping each other create content! We had to remind them a few times that there were Nigerian snacks provided by Ediri from Kajose Culinair: fried rice with skewers of meat or tofu.

Terya Sarrucco gives a presentation about how to improve online presence

Once everyone had stretched their legs and eaten a bit, Terya Sarrucco started her workshop on social media presence and strategy. Women were energized and excited to ask questions and talk about their struggles to strengthen their online presence.

When Terya’s presentation finished, prizes from sponsors were raffled, and then the networking hour began! Everyone had a celebratory toast with Ivy Loise sparkling wine, then dined on more bites provided by Kajose Culinair.

About Tribes Blaak

Tribes provides offices, meeting rooms, and desks for freelancers, small enterprises, and digital nomads alike. As of 2019, they have locations throughout the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium, and continue to expand.

Tribes Blaak has offices, meeting rooms, and desks that members can use for work purposes

Each workspace is inspired by a different indigenous, nomadic tribe from another part of the world. They encourage their members to treat the co-working office as…well, their own tribe of like-minded, hustling business nomads.
